Recently I got to learn cooking at Palate Sensations; a cooking school. It was an enjoyable time, perhaps also due to my love for cooking. We learnt to cook a 3-course meal; consisting of french onion soup, duck breast and profiteroles. Now I realise why french onion soup is so expensive. It is labour intensive and time consuming. It takes about 2 hours to cook and you have to keep watching it to make sure the onions are not burnt. We also had an activity called "Black Box challenge" where each team had to make a dish from scratch using the ingredients given on the spot. The main ingredient was lamb chops and I must say our lamb chops were deliciously juicy and tender! Lynette, the owner of Palate Sensations and the chef of the day were great, they were attentive and provide good service. I am looking forward to another opportunity to learn cooking there again. We tasted our own food and it was so good!
